Step 3: What to bring
(and what NOT to bring)
We want to be sure you are comfortable and have everything you need for your 12-day admission at New Hope. Here’s a checklist to help you as you pack.
What to pack
Comfortable Clothes
Plan to be comfortable and make yourself at home. Shorts, jeans, sweatpants, sundresses, etc., are all great choices. We provide laundry services if needed, so don’t worry if you’re a few days short.
Personal Items
Don’t forget to pack any special soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc., that you regularly use, as well as glasses or contacts. You’ll need to bring device chargers, but there’s no need for special adaptors at our facility. If you forget something, though, don't worry... There are stores closeby and we will be happy to help you find the items you need.
Medications & Equipment
Bring all prescription medication in the original bottle, enough for at least 15 days. Ask our staff about additional supplements. Bring your CPAP, BiBAP, Nebulizer (with medications), or other medical devices. Also, be sure to bring enough feeding tube nutrition if needed.
ID, Payments, etc.
A passport and/or valid government-issued photo ID is required for travel across the border. Keep this with you at all times, not in your suitcase.
If you are paying by check, please give this to Dr. Branyon or our Administrator at pick-up.
What NOT to pack
No Weapons
Traveling with weapons such as firearms, knives, ammunition, etc., is strictly prohibited.
No Illegal Drugs
Do not travel with any non-prescribed opioids, narcotics, cannabis products, or miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.
Other Items
It should be noted that Mexico's regulations of various other items (such as THC edibles) can vary from the United States. If you would like to bring items not listed here, please verify that it is legal to own or possess these items before you arrive. If you have questions about a specific item or medication, please ask your Patient Navigator or New Hope Unlimited administration before transport across the border.
A Note on Current TSA Regulations
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) provides an extensive list of restricted items that can be carried on flights, as well as how they should be packed in your luggage. If you have questions about any of your personal items, please refer to TSA's WEBSITE for more information.
